Dear Editor – I write to acknowledge the media apologetic presentation and contention posed against my name in the Island Sun paper dated 15th June 2017 was featured only for the interest of media and the reading audience.
It was a true misrepresentation of what I stood for in the church and also in the light of the national transition in Solomon Islands. It portrayed myself with an opposition character to peace and the ruling government.
That article featured against my name may have caused hurt and pain for people. Those who felt the hurt I apologise.
I convey my sincere apology to the Hon Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare, the government and people of Solomon Islands, the Christian Churches, the Archbishop and members of the Anglican Church of Melanesia.
I am a priest and a peace-builder and will remain committed to the work for peace. Peace-building is the ongoing work and commitment of the Government and the Church.
We have come a long way and the need now is to stand firm in order to sustain peace and face the challenges of our time.
Standing at the threshold of this new decade and at the turn of this new millennium the need now is to be together because united, we stand divided, we shall fall. God bless Solomon Islands.
