A MALAITA man says lack of better infrastructure is one of the major setbacks to development in the Solomon Islands.
And Jonah Myles said, that it’s something that the current Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) government must prioritise and seriously invest into it.
He said, that in any development there must be an infrastructure like proper roads, bridges, airport, telecommunication and wharves.
“How can we encourage development when infrastructures are lacking?
“We talk about development every now and then but if there’s no proper infrastructure, then it’s useless,” he said.
He revealed, that all major economic development project earmarked for Malaita Province is the talk of the day but it’s obvious there’s no proper road, bridges and even the airport remains close.
“I believe if proper infrastructures are in place it will drive development in the country,” he said.
It’s understood infrastructure development and improvement will be the focus of the DCC government this year.
