BURGLARS broke into a family home at Naha Ridge yesterday morning and got away with laptops, phones and cash.
Mrs Nanette Tutua told Solomon Star that it was around 5am that burglars broke open their residential gate lock and entered their house through the back door.
They took away two laptops, phones and cash.
She said at the time of the incident, she was in bed reading a book, her husband was in the bathroom and her daughter had just gone back to sleep after breastfeeding her baby.
Mrs Tutua said she heard the noise of someone walking inside the house but was thinking it was her husband.
“The burglars came and opened my door and then quickly closed it again. I had my back to the door so I thought it was my husband who had gone to the bathroom.
“When my husband was in the bathroom, he also heard the noise of someone walking inside the house but he thought it was me,” she recalled.
Mrs Tutua said they only realised thieves had entered their home and robbed them when her husband came out of the bathroom to use his laptop and realised it was missing.
She said realising that his laptop was missing from where it was, her husband looked in the direction of their back door and realised it was open and alerted her.
Mrs Tutua said they quickly notified police about the incident and they arrived at the scene for investigation.
She said this was the second time her family home has been robbed.
The Tutua family is now appealing to members of the public to assist the police with any information relating to the incident.
