SOLOMON Islands international James Naka is aiming to finish his career on a high with Nalkutan FC in the 2018 OFC Champions League.
Naka who was omitted from the national team last year said he is determined to give it one last try.
It was the end of the road for Naka on the international level but with his recent signing with Nalkutan, he is aiming for another impressive outing this year.
Speaking from Vanuatu on Tuesday, Naka told Star Sports he is looking forward to helping his new club.
“I am excited ahead of another challenge in the O-League with my new club, Nalkutan FC.
“We have been training for almost a month now and I’m pleased with how the team response in training.
“I believe its always good to compete against top clubs in the region.
“So to finish my career on a high will be something special,” he said.
The veteran forward is not alone in the Nalkutan side as compatriot Nelson Sale and Joses Nawo will also feature for the debutants.
The trio are not new to Vanuatu football and it is obvious their inclusion will boost the club in their debut Oceania appearance.
They helped former Vanuatu champions Amicale reached the OFC Champions League twice.
Naka believes in his fellow countrymen to help Nalkutan in their Oceania campaign.
“From what the management said, they believe our inclusion in the team will help the club a lot.
“We have massive experience in the O-League and I think our contribution to the team will be crucial in our pool,” he added.
Nalkutan FC will play its opening match on Friday against Fijian giants Ba FC at the Korman Stadium.
They are drawn in Group A alongside BA FC, Lae City Dwellers and Tupapa Maraerenga FC.
