The Fiji Rugby Union’s XVs provincial competition will be known as the Vodafone Cup this year, Rugby House confirms.
The competition which was won last year by Nadroga will start on the first week of April.
Rugby House is currently in talks with sponsors on the naming right of six other competitions sanctioned by FRU after signing a $40million sponsorship with a consortium led by Vodafone and includes Fiji Airways, CJ Patel, HFC, Telecom and Fijian Holdings.
The sponsors will also discuss generic names of Fiji Rugby’s four other national teams. The national sevens team is known as the Vodafone Fiji 7s team.
