THE Solomon Islands National Women’s team left the country on Sunday to participate in the PacificAus Sports Four Nations Series 2025 in Canberra, Australia.
Their departure was confirmed by the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF).
“The National Women’s Team departs this morning for the PacificAus Sports Four Nations Series 2025 in Canberra, Australia,” SIFF said in a statement on Sunday.
The 28-member team comprising both old and new players are coached by veteran footballer Batram Robert Suri.
SIFF said the National Women’s Team will kick off their campaign this Wednesday against Thailand at the Viking Park.
Their second match will be against the hosts Australia U20 this Saturday also at the Viking Park.
Their third and the final match will be against Vanuatu next Tuesday at the Deakin Stadium.
This is the second edition of Football Australia’s PacificAus Sport Nations tournament.
The tournament is proudly backed by the Australian Government through the PacificAus Sports Programme.
The objectives of the PacificAus Sports Programme are to create more opportunities for Pacific and Australian athletes and teams to train, play and grow together.
