WILSON Ne’e is the new chairman of the Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau (SIVB) board.
Tourism minister Samuel Manetoali announced this yesterday.
He replaces Moses Tepai, whose term has ended.
Mr Ne’e is no stranger to the tourism industry.
A former Solomon Airlines executive, who is now a private businessman, he was deputy chair of the board prior to his elevation.
Mr Manetoali said he give Mr Ne’e his letter of appointment, Wednesday.
“I congratulated Mr Ne’e on his new appointment and believe he has the knowledge to ensure SIVB continues to drive the tourism industry forward,” Mr Manetoali said.
Mr Ne’e confirmed his appointment, saying he felt humble and happy to take up the new position.
“This job is not new to me. I’ve been on the deputy chair in the past years so I’m confident to take up this new role,” he said.
He also pledged to work closely with the SIVB chief executive officer and his staff.
The general manager of Heritage Park Hotel Mr Sanjay is the new deputy of the board.
