GUADALCANAL Civil Society Network has called on its eight national parliamentarians to respect the decision of Parliament Entitlement Commission to reduce the $400,000 terminal grant.
Team leader, Stanley Vutiande said it’s not good leadership to show leaders demanding terminal grants from the government.
He said it shows a ‘poverty mentality’ displayed by the national parliamentarians.
“As a province that contributes much to the economy of the country, our eight parliamentarians should respect the decision of PEC,” he said.
It is still unclear whether government had paid the money to the members of parliament already.
However, PEC claims it will challenge the government if the $400,000 is paid to MPs.
