T-Brothers Football Club (FC) won the Augustine Auga’s cup for the first time in the Lau Mbaelelea constituency in Malaita Province on New Year’s Eve.
T-Brothers from Tauba scored the only goal in the grand-final to defeat rivals Funafou FC to crown the new champions of the Auga’s cup.
Settling for the third place was ZK FC while Arao FC settled for the fourth place.
For individual awards; the fairest team award goes to FR FC, while John Noni from the winning team T-Brothers and Hilzzy Samani of Gou’ulu FC shared the golden boot award after scoring most goals in the tournament.
Rodney Taiselo of T-Brother won the Golden Glove award after an outstanding performance between the sticks throughout the course of the tournament which saw his team the T-Brothers won the Auga’s cup for the first time.
Auga’s cup is an annual sporting event in the Lau Mbaelelea electorate funded by tax payers money through none other than the Lau Mbaelelea MP since coming into power.
