Another new Bmobile/Vodafone tower e in Malaita came on air as of Monday, September 14th this week.
This site is another 40 meter SST tower structure located at the highest point above Auki called Ofalomae tower.
A statement from the company yesterday said, this will give around 4,000 people from Malaita additional coverage.
“This tower will serve all villages on the North and South arteries road out of Auki. This will site completes project 2A for Bmobile-Vodafone.”
The next phase for Malaita which starts this week is to ensure that the network is a high capacity network, the company said.
“This will give the province of Malaita redundancy and massively improve the up-times of the Bmobile-Vodafone service.
“The high capacity project has already started this month and the new dishes are all in place to be erected onto the towers in the coming days.
“This is the most ambitious project bmobile-Vodafone have done since their launch in 2010. This network upgrade will give Malaita a much better quality service for its customers improving outages, call quality and data speeds.
This project will also be completed within the next few weeks.
“Again bmobile-Vodafone are determined to complete this on time. This will give the province a similar customer experience as in Honiara.”
