Solomon Islands Women’s U16 National team will take on New Caledonia tomorrow in their second leg match in Group B of the OFC U16 Women’s Championship in Suva, Fiji.
The match will be played at 2pm local time.
This came after the local girls outclassed the Tahiti side with a two goal victory on Monday.
Reports said, it was perfect start for Solomon Islands U16 girls which paved a positive start to the road to qualification for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup 2025.
The second match will be a tough battle for the both teams as they have been making good preparations against the competition.
The New Caledonian side is expected to make a strong come back they were thrashed by after New Zealand 8 Nil in their opening match of the tournament early this week.
This means New Caledonian won’t take the second match against Solomon Islands lightly.
For its going to be a must win match to try and earn some points inorder to advance to the top spot.
Solomon Islands on the other hand will want to maintain a winning trend after their impressive performance on Monday.
Their win has generated excitement amongst the local fans and supporters in the country and abroad.
Solomon Islands will play their third group match against the title defender New Zealand on Sunday this week at 11am local time.
In other matches in the OFC U16 Women’s Championship saw a determined Tongan side fought back in their Group A opener against hosts Fiji, resulting in a thrilling 3-3 draw at the OFC U-16 Women’s Championship.
Samoa also made an impressive start to the OFC U-16 Women’s Championship, securing a commanding 10-0 victory over the Cook Islands.
