MEMBERS of the public have began visiting the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints new district centre building at Talise area, Honiara, as of Friday.
The centre will be officially opened today.
This follows an invitation extended to members of the public to go and visit and see for themselves what and how the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints operates and goes about its pastoral ministry.
“The purpose of for opening its doors to members of the public is to show people how we do things in the country in view of the fact many people are still not aware of our presence in this country,” Mr Sauseru said.
The visitors yesterday included Senior Government officials, business houses and private sectors. Today’s official opening of the centre will be open to members of the public.
He said many of us in this country are still puzzled and confused about how this church group carries out its pastoral duties and may have questions in their minds what this is all about,” he added.
“Therefore this is the opportunity for us to explain to you what this church is and how we do things in the service of God,” he said.
“In this Church, we believed that Christ is the center of our lives and we always work in faith with him,” Mr Sauseru said.
He added they have encouraged people to tour in and around the building and see for themselves what the church is all about.
