A new hearing date will be fixed for the four men who allegedly murdered a young diplomat in 2012 outside of the Honiara Central Market.
The men were supposed to go on trial as of yesterday but the prosecutor in carriage of the case and the Judge who will hear the trial are currently engaged in another murder trial.
The case was therefore moved to August 22, where a new trial date will be set.
Cecil Manu, 36, Peter Diau, 20, Simon Peter 24, and a 19 year-old boy who was a juvenile at the time of the alleged killing are all facing a murder charge.
The alleged killing took place on the early hours of April 21, 2012.
Prosecution alleged they set up a road block outside the market and attacked and stabbed the deceased when he went out of his vehicle to confront them.
The deceased died shortly after he was taken to the National Referral Hospital.
The Public Solicitor’s Office is representing the men while the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions represents the State.
