NEW Mala village on Kohingo Island in the Western Province hosted the Western Solomons Easter Convention from Friday last week to Sunday this week – Good Friday to Easter Sunday.
This was confirmed to Solomon Star yesterday by Dennis McAdams.
Mr McAdams said the guest speaker for the convention was Bishop Eric Maefonia, who is also the Vice Chairman of Solomon Islands Christian Association (SICA).
He said this religious convention brought together hundreds of SSEC members of all ages in Western Solomon region.
“The SSEC Church members who attended the convention have enjoyed the fellowship, worshiping, praying and singing together at New Mala village.
“The praise and worship through singing was led by a talented musical group from Noro SSEC.
“We are here at New Mala village for the South Sea Evangelical Church Western Solomon Easter Convention where we were blessed with the vibrant singing of some 350 people of all ages,” Mr McAdams said.
As a result of the Easter Convention, 16 people have accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour and were baptized.
The baptisms were the main highlight of the entire convention.
