GIZO Town was the centre of focus for music lovers in the Western province when Gizo Hotel hosts the ‘Sunset Ragga Party’ over the weekend.
The event was a new and artistic initiative by various local Ragga-muffin artists which saw the need to keep music alive in the Hapi isles.
Speaking to the Solomon Star from Gizo, the events manager John Kemakeza said, the Sunset Ragga Party will be an annual event and the aim is to have all the popular Ragga songsters perform in various provincial capitals within the country.
Those that took part in the event were, Blad P2A and Evin Rush of Doorman’s Project (DMP), RuffNek and Buad of 56 Hop Rod, and Taina Gee.
The events manager said that, the local music deserved to be promoted both locally and internationally and so as the local musical artists. Thus, the need for the birth of the ‘Sunset Ragga Party’ is not a twist of fate.
He added that, with the infertility of the Solomon Islands Music Federation (SIMF) at the present, he took up the initiative to make the rural populace feel and see the taste of the current status of the country’s music industry.
According to Mr Kemakeza, the Gizo tour was an arrangement that was made with the owner of the Gizo Hotel and they wished to thank the hotel management for making the events successful.
He told this paper that, the turn up during both shows was very huge and the crowd really enjoyed the event.
Meanwhile, the Sunset Ragga Party will be at Noro town this weekend upon request from fans in Noro and the venue will be at the K Country Club.
The boys also call on any business house or individual that wishes to support them financially with the Ragga party initiative to contact them on mobile numbers 7364378 or 8742394.
