Choiseul Province has a new Premier after the Provincial Assembly Members voted in Benjamin Harrison for the premiership position, Monday.
The Provincial Member for Katupika Ward was nominated into the electoral process by Hon. Clement Kengava and Hon. William Sualalu.
By the close of the nomination period, Harrison’s only challenger for the leadership was Hon. Paul Telovae who got the short end of the stick by the end of voting day, yesterday.
The special assembly meeting conducted to vote in a new premier was held in the Choiseul capital of Taro and was praised to be a peaceful electoral process.
The people of Choiseul are now anticipating the executive selection phase in which the full government side of the province will be revealed.
