A newly registered taxi service c was launched in Auki, Malaita province yesterday.
Called Kirio taxi services, the launching involved a parade by the taxi fleet from Kilu’ufi Hospital to Auki town in Malaita Province.
It was an initiative of local business owner Joseph Au’u from Fanalai in South Malaita province who is based in Auki.
The business’ motto is; “Your Destination, Our Responsibility.”
It was time first time for the township to have a taxi business operating a fleet of taxis.
Mr Au’u said, the service is to promote transportation industry and help out in the development of the township.
He said, Kirio Taxi Service will provide a 24 hours business service for the public, tourists and visitors who wants a taxi service when they are in Auki.
He said, the idea to provide an efficiency transport service in Auki town, came after he noticed most tourists visiting the province had difficulties to find a taxi service.
The Kirio fleet had six vehicles, a car and five RAV4 and are equipped with two way radio.
He said, the success of the business depends on trust and honesty.
Drivers are being urged to be honest and trust worthy.
