THE New Tenabuti End of Year Cup 2024 was successfully concluded last Saturday night with an awards presentation ceremony.
The ceremony was held at New Tenabuti SDA Youth Hall in North East Guadalcanal.
The End of Year Cup 2024 was officially sponsored by the Associate Education Director for SDA (EP) Ferol Asa and his family to support the End of Year 2024 games.
Asa, who is currently studying at New Castle University in Australia, organised the games whilst he was on study leave.
The ceremony saw members of the organising committee hand over awards to the winning teams.
Team Green finished top in the fun sports activities and received a new Trophy with a total of 307 points.
The second-place winners, Team Maroon received a total of 304 points, while Team Blue received a total of 293 points for finishing third. Team Maroon also received a cash prize of $500 for winning the choir competition.
Team Yellow received 288 points for claiming the fourth spot. Team White secured the fifth spot with a total of 275 points and Team Red received a total of 271 points after securing the sixth spot.
The end of year organising committee also presented two high achievement awards for the New Tenabuti top female Student of the year 2024, Jerrisha Panakolo, a Grade Six Student at Tenakoga Primary School and Dora Kanabae a Form Two Student at Tenakoga High School.
The two students received a gold medal each. Consolation Awards of $200 cash were presented to Diemelzar Redley for being the top performing New Tenabuti Grade Three Female Student.
Speaking during the Award presentation, Jojo Losi said the presentation of golden awards is to motivate New Tenabuti students to perform well in their studies in 2025.
The End of Year games competition involved a lot of activities and they brought together the youth and older people in New Tenabuti Community to participate in the games and also in the end of year fellowship that was also organised.
The end year 2024 games competition began with an official team parade on Monday.
Meanwhile, the 2024 New Tenabuti End of the Tear organising committee thanked the community and participating teams for making this event a successful one.
