The ITA Hardware in Honiara has been commended for taking the initiate to facelift front of its main shop in Honiara.
Honiara City Town and Country Planning Board chairman, Eddie Ngava told the Sunday Star the council is happy to see ITA Hardware stepping in with its own plans.
“The board is grateful for the initiative taken by ITA management and owner,” he said.
Ngava said it is this kind of corporate responsibility that is lacking in the city of Honiara.
“From the big to the small businesses and even individuals, they simply lack the responsibility as corporate citizens to improve the face of Honiara.
“The council encourages businesses to take initiatives in facelifting their frontage as long as they are in line with town and country planning,” Ngava said.
He said ITA has shown a fine example that other business houses need to follow.
