NORTH New Georgia (NNG) scored twice to eliminate defending champions of New Georgia Vonavona (NGV) Cup Kalikolo in the quarter-final on Wednesday at Dunde Stadium Munda, Western Province.
Kalikolo couldn’t answer the two goals (2:0) netted by its rival and neighbouring team NNG after 80 minutes full time come to an end.
The reigning champion has fought hard in the pool game and was hoping to claim the victory and qualify for the semi-final. However, NNG ended its hope for glory.
One of the NGV Cup players playing for East Munda Jeffery Henry said defending champion is out of the tournament.
This means the NGV Cup 2021 will have a new champion.
