CHRISTIAN Nieng has confirmed the National Hosting Authority (NHA) is yet to have an Executive Director.
He was responding to some claims that he was appointed few weeks ago as the Executive Director without going through the proper recruitment process.
It’s understood that out of the four applicants interviewed, no appointment has yet been made.
Nieng also confirmed that the interviews have already taken place but he is not aware of any appointments.
“Any decision on that matter will be made by the NHA board and not any individuals within the board,” he confirmed.
Nieng said at this point of time they are not aware of any person who will be appointed for that position.
He also added that NHA has nothing to hide and the public must know that NHA is a statutory body that was set up under an Act of Parliament.
Nieng said whatever decision is being made is always based on the act of the parliament that guides NHA board.
“NHA cannot act outside the given act of parliament but must strictly follow what the act outlines,” he added.
Nieng assured the public that the NHA board will continue to strive for the best as the country prepares to host the 2023 Pacific Games.
