THE Indonesian Government has offered nine (9) scholarships for Solomon Islanders for the 2024-2025 academic year.
A statement from the Indonesian Honrary Consul in Honiara announced these scholarship opportunities yesterday.
“These Scholarships are part of Indonesia Government support towards Solomon Islands Human Resources Development. It is a grant program from Indonesian Government, which aims to achieve Sustainable Development Goals targets; especially in the Education Sector for Indonesia’s development partners like Solomon Islands.
“The objective of The Indonesia Aid Scholarship (TIAS) program is to create and develop high-skilled future leaders in the area of public service and public policy, enhance socio, economic and cultural understanding and strengthen the relationship and cooperation between countries,” the statement said.
“Such program acts as a soft diplomacy to strengthen cooperation and friendship among Indonesia partners like Solomon Islands for a better and bright future.
“The Indonesia Aid Scholarship (TIAS) were offered in Associate degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Professional Education and also in Master’s Degree for Government officials and or individuals that were recommended by Government of Solomon Islands,” the statement added.
The statement said of the nine scholarships, one is for Diploma, four for Bachelor’s Degree and four for Master’s Degree.
It said these scholarships were offered in ‘Partner University with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Indonesia Government’ and cover academic cost, a round-trip ticket, visa cost, monthly living allowance, settle-in allowance, accommodation allowance, health insurance, education support fund, research grant, international seminar grant and international journal publication assistance fund.
