There are no plans by the Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) board to terminate the contract of chief executive officer Colin Yow.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development Henry Murray clarified this following rumours the board under its newly-appointed chairman Billy Titiulu will sack Singaporean Yow.
“Any decision will have to be made by the board, but at this stage, it has yet to meet,” Murray said.
“So any speculation that the board will sack Yow is not true,” he said.
“The truth is the board, under its new chairman, is yet to meet,” Murray said.
He said the board is expected to hold its first meeting in February.
Murray said the first meeting will discuss a host of issues, including the current reform program SIPA management had introduced.
