SINU OWED $8.8M

UP to 32 constituencies owed Solomon Islands National University (SINU) $8,800,700.00 in unpaid tuition fees.
This is for this year’s semester 1.
“Because of these, SINU has made a decision not to register students from the 32 constituencies for semester 2,” a SINU statement said.
“But students from these constituencies can register for semester 2 by paying their tuition fees as private students,” the statement added.
East constituency is given $200,000 a year through their MP to meet school fees.
MPs used the grant to meet students from their constituencies studying in various schools across the country.
Most constituency students studying at SINU are sponsored by their constituencies.
East Are’are and West Are’are constituencies in Malaita top the list of outstanding fees.
