STUDENTS attending the Anglican Church of Melanesia schools have been warned that the churches’ Education Authority will not entertain style haircuts.
It was part of the church’s disciplinary measures which required all students to adhere to, in moulding them become good future leaders.
The warning was issued during the commissioning service for students held at St Barnabas Cathedral last Friday.
Selwyn College Principal Fox Qwaina said while appreciating the good number of student intake at the college this academic year, he warned students against turning up with stylish haircuts.
He warned that the College management will not entertain fancy haircuts, bold cut or dyed hair by students turning up at the college campus when the academic year starts next week.
Mr Qwaina also warned that students who do not comply with the rules will be sent back home until they have neat haircuts or have their hair grown.
Deputy Principal of St Stephen National Secondary School Pamua also issued similar warning to students earmarked to attend the college.
“We do not want to see style haircuts, bold cuts or dyed hair at the school,” he said.
He also warned students not to bring with them mobile phones and musical instruments.
About 2000 secondary and primary schools student from Selwyn College, St Stephen Pamua National Secondary School, St Nicholas College, Norman Palmer and St Francis School attended the commissioning service.
