THE first COVID-19 swab test of the person in Noro, Western Province who was in close contact with one of the persons who was tested positive in Honiara for COVID-19 is negative.
Reports reaching Solomon Star in Gizo this evening (Thursday 20th January) said since the person arrived in Noro on Sunday and following news of the positive COVID-19 result in Honiara, the person has been self-quarantined at his home.
The Western Province health team that went to Noro to do swabbing and contact tracing also swab four other persons living in the same household.
Reports said all five specimens collected from Noro came back negative.
Despite the negative results, Solomon Star was told that these people will continue to remain in house quarantine until after 14 days.
It said two more tests will be collected with the final test to be collected after the 14days quarantine.
Whatever the outcome from the last two swabs of those in the household will determine the true and final result.
