Hundreds turn out to witness the ordination of Br Dominic Soloko as a new deacon for the Catholic Church in Noro last Sunday on the 6th of August 2017 at Noro Township.
The ordination was conducted by the Catholic Bishop of Gizo.
Witnessed by his relatives from Wagina Island, Canaan, his own family, friends and church communities in Noro, the ordination took place on Sunday 6th August 2017.
During mass and before the installation of Br Dominic Soloko, His Most Rev, Bishop Luciano Capelli sdb welcomed Br Soloko in the church as Deacon.
In the Bishop’s homily, Bishop Luciano strongly challenged Br Dominic Soloko about the three types of unfaithful Deacons.
Each has certain characteristics that they are unfaithful to serve as deacons.
Bishop Luciano challenged Deacon Soloko,” It is time to serve the people and give the best he has to the people, and telling Deacon Dominic to allow Christ to live in him and to reach out to the people.”
The parishioners of Noro Catholic Church prepared a big lunch for everyone to enjoy. In addition, by late afternoon a beautiful entertainment from Canaan, Wagina, Goldie College, Biulah PSS and friends from Malaita in Noro was perfumed in front of a big crowd.
Deacon Dominic Soloko described his ordination as beautiful and colorful and thanking everyone especially for his family and relatives and to the Bishop who continue supporting him.
