MAINTENANCE work in repairing pot holes along the 17 kilometer road in North Malaita has reached Fo’ondo and down to Walo community as of last week.
Islands Engineering company limited based in Auki is currently conducting graveling and grading of the road.
The maintenance work covered the area between Taeloa and to Fo’ondo.
A visit by the Solomon Star to North Malaita over the weekend saw that work is making progress.
One of the officers told the paper that a lot of work has been done to help restore the road which had a lot of potholes.
With the work done so far most of the people living and traveling along the road are happy with the work.
Solomon Islands government is funding the reconstruction work.
