Pictured (right) on a trek to Myles Falls on Kolombangara, Western Province high profile Canadian travel writer Jessica Lockhart who has been visiting the Solomon Islands to collate stories for internationally-renowned travel guide publisher, Lonely Planet.
Ms Lockhart, pictured with Tourism Solomons marketing officer, Eldona Lokay, visited the destination literally hours after being presented with the prestigious Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA), ‘Most Outstanding Consumer Travel journalist 2024’ award in Sydney.
Her itinerary in the Solomon Islands included hiking in Kolombangara and snorkelling at Njari Island, a Savo island volcano walk and cultural activities and a Honiara-based program incorporating visits to several WWII sites and monuments.
