THE National Referral Hospital in Honiara is working with a donor to secure automated security to protect the government’s property.
This came after outsiders have used the hospital for sleeping after night clubs, charging mobile phones, picnic at the seafront and other illegal activities.
Chief executive officer, Dr Steve Aumanu said there are a lot of entries into the hospital, which made it really hard to control movement of people.
Dr Aumanu said currently there are 18 security guards manning the premise in the last eight months.
However, he said they want to go into automated system to control the movement.
Furthermore, Dr Aumanu urged media to report positive news about the hospital to bring confidence to the public rather than tarnishing its image.
“We now have a communication officer, so the media can get information from there,” he said.
