New Zealand’s Foreign Affairs Minister says this year’s Pacific leaders’ summit is of particular significance as it will include high-level discussions over the future of the Pacific Plan.
Murray McCully is in Palau for the 45th Pacific Islands Forum, which officially opens today in the capital Koror.
McCully says the Pacific Plan has a lot of potential, which has yet to be realised.
“The Pacific Plan is a process that has been useful ion expressing aspirations but hasn’t actually resulted in a lot of concrete actions. And there is a resolve I think among leaders to try and change that around. I think they have decided that if everything is a priority, nothing is a priority.”…
