Solomon Warriors Vs KOSSA
SOLOMON Warriors FC and KOSSA FC are all set for the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Champions League Playoffs.
Both teams qualified for the playoffs after finishing in the top two spots of the recently completed 2022/2023 Telekom S-league (TSL) season.
The first leg of the playoffs is set for tomorrow Wednesday February 22nd at Lawson Tama and the second playoff is scheduled for February 28th.
Warriors have long sealed their spot for the playoffs following an early confirmation as champions of the 2022/2023 TSL season with two matches at hand before the end of the season.
The second spot for the playoffs was to be determined between KOSSA FC and former TSL champions, Central Coast FC.
Coast needed a high score of more than three goals clear in their final match to qualify, but that is if KOSSA lose their final match.
Despite their 5-0 win over Henderson Eels FC, Coast could not make it as KOSSA managed to hold Warriors with a 1-1 draw in Sunday’s final match.
For Warriors, this is the second time they will be playing the OFC Champions League playoffs following the introduction of the new format last season.
This is KOSSA’s first time for the playoffs and they are focused on making good use of this opportunity.
With the current bunch of players at hand, KOSSA has a very good chance of making it through to the OFC Champions League.
They have proven to be a tough contender following their 1-1 draw with Warriors on Sunday.
For the seven time TSL champions, Warriors are up and ready for the battle.
The current mixture of old and new players in their squad makes them a hard nut to crack.
