The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission (SIEC) says registration officers this week began accepting omissions and objections from provisional voters’ lists.
The Electoral Commission urges voters to check their names at the various registration centres around the country.
It says the omissions and objections period which runs from today to August 6 is an opportunity for voters to identify people who should not have been registered in centres where their names have appeared on the provisional lists as well as those whose names may be appearing in other provisional voters’ lists.
So far 6000 double registrations have been detected by the Biometric Voter Registration system.
