AUKI Police officers on Friday held a practical demonstration on life saving skills after completing a weeklong training conducted by United States (US) military.
Throughout last week, the local officers have undergone training on ways to save lives in times of accidents, emergencies and disasters.
US military personal have conducted the training to boost the Auki Police officers following a request.
At the end of the five-day training, a practical session was conducted.
The demonstration involved rescuing and saving people who are injured and how to treat them on the ground with whatever medical equipment available.
The practical session also include handling the inured, dressing their wounds, how to carry them on a stretcher and how to handle people who have fractured hands, legs and head and many more.
About 19 officers successfully completed the program and were certified.
The US Military personnel commended the local Auki police for successfully demonstrating what they have learnt during the initial weeklong training.
The US officers are currently in the country on a two weeks Pacific Partnership program.
