Para seals first Olympic ticket

IT has been confirmed that Solomon Islands has its first-ever qualification to the Tokyo Paralympics Games.
Para-athlete Solomon Jagiri finished top in the men’s U61Kg in the Oceania Olympic qualification competition in Australia to qualify to compete in the Olympic Games.
Winning gold and qualifying for the Olympic Games are both history for the Solomon Islands.
Jagiri is one of 12 para-athletes who is participating in the Olympic qualification competitions this month.
Hopes are high for other para-athletes who will soon compete in their respective qualifications.
These para-athletes will compete mostly in athletics track and field events.
The Paralympic Games will coincide with the Olympic Games in Japan mid this year.
