Minister of lands and housing Joseph Onika has thanked members of parliament (MP) for their positive contribution and support towards the 2014 amendment of the Lands and Titles Bill.
Speaking in Parliament yesterday minister Onika said he was very pleased with the level of support and regard that MPs have in support towards the Bill.
“…important points raised by members in their presentations are all going to be part of an ongoing series of development towards the Lands and Titles Act,” Onika said.
The minister added that these amendments signal a historical error in the history of the country which all members must be proud to be part of.
Onika said it is his profound conviction that these amendments will pass and implemented for the good of the country.
“These amendments if pass and implemented will involve public land administration and stimulate better customer service to ensure public land allocation transparent, fair, efficient, justifiable and equitable,” Onika added.
He stressed that by these amendments will boost government revenue from public land and ensure that public interest is protected.
The comments were made after the minister of lands move that the 2014 Lands and Titles Act has been read the second time in parliament yesterday.
