The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SICCI) and Solomon Islands Small Business Enterprise Center (SISBEC) will host a joint open day to promote collaboration, innovation and entrepreneurship amongst stakeholders engaging with and supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
The theme for the event is “Supporting SME’s to build pathways to a vibrant Solomon Islands”. SICCI in collaboration with SISBEC recognizes the importance of SME’s and their contribution to the economy. The event will feature a number of activities geared towards promoting collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship amongst SME’s.
The event will take place at the National Museum, Mendana Avenue on Tuesday July 12th 2016 from 8:30am until 4:15pm.
The days’ planned activities include:
· Case study presentations of successful businesses/models such as Varivao Holdings, Kokonut pasifiki, the winner of the cocoa/chocolate week including more.
· Keynote addresses from speakers from SIG, Private Sector, Women in Business including Development Partners.
· Plenary sessions from Successful SME’s.
· An essay & speech competition for students- prizes awarded for best essay outlining why small and medium size businesses are important to the future prosperity of Solomon Islanders.
