THE Parliamentary Opposition Office applauds the government for quickly resolving the Solomon Airlines issue.
But the Opposition Office maintains that the government’s intervention into airlines is only proper as government owes the airlines millions of dollars as well.
“As the largest creditor of the Solomon Airlines it’s only proper that the government intervenes to allow the airlines to resume normal services,” the Opposition Office stated.
The Parliamentary Opposition also welcomes the government’s move to appoint new board of directors to the airlines board.
“So much has been said of the Chief Executive Officer for the past years, but little attention has been given to the board who should be exerting pressure on the CEO to deliver to the expectations of the government and the general traveling public,” the Opposition Office.
The Parliamentary Opposition Office therefore welcomes the government’s decision to change the board of directors.
