THE Parliamentary Opposition Group has questioned why the Prime Minister has chosen to remain tight lipped over issues of national interest raised by the Opposition Office.
In a statement on Wednesday, it said over the past months the Opposition Group has raised serious concerns on many issues of national concern.
The Opposition then described the Government’s continued silence as ‘unacceptable’.
The statement adds that it is appalling that the Government continue to allow itself to be ridiculed.
The Opposition Group statement said that serious issues raised by the office are concerns that were also shared by citizens of this country.
Therefore, the Prime Minister should not shy away from issues raised against his Government, it said.
Some of the issues that the Prime Minister and his Government failed to respond to includes;
· The truth about the Financial situation of the country
· The Malaita based national projects
· Prime Minister’s support for scam fisheries project in Ontong Java
· The tender process in awarding the Under-Sea Cable to Huawei and allegations of the $40M kickback to the DCCG.
· And the source of funds to finance Western & Choiseul provincial elections
“These are serious issues that the Prime Minister and his Government needs to answer and inform this nation about rather than leaving our people in suspense,” it said.
