Orobulu to join Henderson Eels this year, fans congratulate him for decision
THE country’s upcoming striker John Orobulu is set to join the Henderson Eels FC for this year’s season.
This was confirmed by the owner of the club Hudson Wakio in a social media post yesterday.
Mr Wakio said Henderson Eels FC will still bank on most of its young squad from 2023 TSL Season for 2024 season.
But there are some new comers to boost the side, he added.
“John Orobulu is one of few new inclusions with the team for 2024 season.
“Our former right back, Derick Taebo, will also join Eels for 2024 season.
“Chris Ohasio will also join Eels for 2024 season plus few more new inclusions to confirm soon,” Mr Wakio said.
Three players have left the team to join other teams.
“Aloh Kanahanimae had left the team and joined Solomon Warrior, Junior Jack Ani will likely join Rewa FC and Solomon Daudau will join Tafea FC of Vanuatu,” he added.
Many fans have congratulated Orobulu for making the decision to join Eels this season.
Orobulu is believed to be one of the much sought after players in the country and region, given his style of play.
He was tipped to join two clubs in Fiji, Ba and Nadroga.
However, he decided to remain in the country.
Orobulu is one the country’s top players who is currently a member of the country’s national side.
He was part of the 2023 Pacific Games team that went down to New Caledonia in front of the home crowd during the finals.
Orobulu’s goal cost the team to win silver.
The youngster had expressed regret for missing the decisive goal.
Meanwhile, News of Oceania Football reported that Fiji club Nadi FC has announced the signing of two Solomon Islands internationals players Norman Ngafu and Clivert Sam for the 2024 season (Fiji Football League).
Norman Ngafu from Solomon Islands club Marist FC and Clivert Sam from Solomon Islands club Honiara City FC are expected to fly out to the Jetset town of Fiji in the coming week.
Both Norman Ngafu and Clivert Sam have Solomon Islands National Team appearances and pedigree. This will give the Nadi FC experience to truly challenge the league rivals for maybe a trophy this 2024 season.
But a third Solomon Islands international player is also lined up to complete Nadi FC playing roster for the 2024 season.
Nadi FC has released a statement saying, “Nadi FC would like to thank the club officials of these players for facilitating their release and a former Nadi resident now working in Solomon Islands for helping secure these talented players.”
