Extends Golden boot tally
SOUTHERN United FC’s forward, John Orobulu is back with another exceptional performance for his club to kick off round two of the Telekom S-league (TSL) season.
Orobulu scored a brace to help Southern United come from behind to beat Marist FC 2-1 at Lawson Tama in the opening match of the season’s final round on Saturday.
The two goals extend Orobulu’s lead in the Golden Boot race with 14 goals while KOSSA’s Gagame Feni remains second in the race with nine goals.
The win puts Southern United on the sixth place with 19 points.
Marist dropped by a spot to settle on seventh place with 17 points.
Saturday’s second match saw another impressive performance by Honiara City, defeating the winless Real Kakamora 5-0 to settle on second place with 26 points.
Kakamora remains at the bottom with no point.
Meanwhile defending champions, Solomon Warriors FC made a strong comeback from the first round to start of their final round campaign with a 7-1 win over KOSSA FC in Saturday’s final match.
Warriors took a comfortable 4-0 lead in the first half before adding another three goals in the second half while KOSSA managed one goal by Timothy Bakale.
Yesterday’s matches saw Central Coast beat FC Juniper 5-1 to maintain the top position with 26 points.
The final two matches yesterday between SOSA FC and Laugu United, and Waneagu United FC and Henderson Eels all ended with nil all draws.
