Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Deli Oso denies claims the Prime Minister meddled in Malaita’s domestic politics.
Oso made the denial following reports the Prime Minister has advised members to put a certain person in power.
“Those rumours are false. The PM never asked for anything. The PM only looks forward to working closely with any newly elected premier.
The report has concerned some members who said it was hard to believe but if the claims were true, it is unprofessional.
But some members said the news may have been fabricated by certain people to lure some members to vote for that certain individual.
The election of a premier was reportedly scheduled for tomorrow.
The election was delayed due to financial constraints faced by the province.
