The political party wing leader and Prime Minister Hon. Manasseh Sogavare reaffirms this commitment and solidarity during a Corporate dinner hosted by OUR PARTY.
“We will continue to serve our people and country until we complete our term in office,” Prime Minister Sogavare stated.
OUR PARTY has grown from its humble beginning in 2010 to become the largest Political Party in the 50 seat Parliament. It has 34 members in Parliament, the largest single political party in the National Parliament.
“This speaks volume of the commitment, sacrifice and steadfast support of past and current members of the Party.”
Our Party upholds the Constitution as a symbol of unity and tranquillity and promotes a Sovereign State conceived upon the mandate of the people through universal suffrage.
It believes that all citizens must be conscious of its civil responsibilities and duties in order to be responsive to the government of the day on issues of nation building and national interests.
In terms of achievements, Prime Minister Sogavare was pleased to report that over the last three years, Our Party and the Coalition Government has delivered a lot in redirecting national resources to support rural Solomon Islanders.
Policy redirection on the fight against COVID 19 and the November riots are among major policy shift to ensure rural Solomon Islanders’ recover.
Delivery is also focused on Infrastructure, Education, Health, Agriculture, Aviation and Telecommunication and other sector areas.
Prime Minister Sogavare adds, another major foreign policy achievements made by the Government since taking office has been the formalization of Diplomatic Relations with Peoples Republic of China (PRC) in September 2021.
Solomon Islands join the international community and the United Nations in adhering to the One China Policy, consistent with UN Resolution 2758 of 1971.
With the short span of time, our relations with PRC has flourished and encompasses many areas of cooperation. The Pacific Games 2023 support, Health, Education, Rural Development, infrastructure development among many national projects under PRC funding.
