MISS Solomon Islands’ Camilla Grossmith finished second runner up at the 30th Miss Pacific Islands in Apia, Samoa, last Friday.
She was also awarded the best talent.
The new Miss Pacific Islands title went to Miss Fiji’s Anne Christine Dunn.
The first runner up went to Miss American Samoa’s Antonina Keka Lilomaiava, followed by Miss Solomon Islands’ Camilla Grossmith, Miss Samoa’s Priscilla Olano, and Miss Cook Islands’ Tapaeru Helen Toka.
Ms Grossmith scooped the main award, the Best Talent, while the Best Interview went to Miss Fiji.
The other awards:
· The best traditional wear was awarded to Miss Fiji,
· Best Sarong to American Samoa
· Miss Internet to Nauru
· Miss Personality to Samoa
· Miss Photogenic to Tonga
· Miss National Tourism to American Samoa.
Ms Grossmith said last night she had done her best and thanked God for taking her that far.
“All I can say is I have done my best.
“It is a step forward for us Solomon Islanders to learn from and improve in the future,” she said.
Ms Grossmith said the competition was tough, featuring a lot of beautiful, talented and smart young women.
She acknowledged her team and sponsor for the team work which gave her the courage and able to finish the second runner up.
Meanwhile, friends and supporters congratulate Miss Grossmith through social media for the achievement.
The next Miss Pacific Islands will be hosted in the Fijian town of Nadi.
