OUR Telekom today launched its M-Selen Mobile Money Service simultaneously in three locations around the country.
The money service was launched in Auki, Gizo and Honiara at 10am today.
M-Selen Mobile Service is a new service within the company to allow our people nation-wide to access financial services through their mobile phones.
This is a project by the United National Capital Development Fund (UNCDE) and the Australian Government called Financial Inclusion Project. These two organisations nominated Our Telekom to rollout the project in Solomon Islands.
Other Pacific Island Countries have already benefited from this financial inclusion project.
Our Telekom Western Region manager Kalwin Aquillah said this revolutionary new service will ensure people of this nation have access to financial services even if they don’t have bank accounts with the commercial banks.
“We are venturing into a new realm of financial services at Telekom, driven by a bold vision to ensure that financial services are easily accessible and affordable for all Solomon Islanders,” he said.
“With the launch of this new service, we are making it easier than ever for our customers to manage their finances and access financial services on the go,” Mr Aquillah said.
The launching of this service in other provincial centres will happen on a later date.
