The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission says it will officially receive its completed voter’s registration list today.
The Commission’s media unit has confirmed that the country’s first biometric voters list was completed last week.
The new system was introduced to try to eliminate multiple registrations and ghost voting as seen in previous elections.
The Electoral Commission is yet to announce an election date and open nominations for the polls, which are tipped for mid November or early December.
About 10 political parties are finalising their registration under the Political Parties Integrity Act, which was adopted to curb political instability by strengthening party politics.
