The Solomon Islands Outrigger Canoe Federation (SIOCF) will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) this Thursday.
The key agenda items including the presentation of reports and the election of new executive members.
This meeting marks a significant step for the Federation, which is still in its infancy but is rapidly growing as a hub for water sports enthusiasts across the country.
Nominations for executive positions are now open, and members of the Federation are encouraged to participate in shaping the leadership for the next term.
The positions available for election include President, two Vice Presidents, General Secretary, Treasurer, and two ordinary members.

Invitations to the AGM will be sent to key stakeholders, including the General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee of Solomon Islands (NOCSI), the Chief Executive Officer of the National Sports Council (NSC) and representatives from the media.
Athletes who have been involved in outrigger canoe activities will be granted voting rights during the meeting seeing that the Federation currently has no affiliated member associations.
The SIOCF is working to solidify its structure and continue promoting outrigger canoeing as a key sporting and cultural activity in the Solomon Islands.
With growing interest in the sport, the upcoming AGM will play a vital role in defining the future direction of the Federation and its efforts to build a sustainable framework for competitions, community engagement, and athlete development.
