With the Bonfire Festival 2024 set to come alive this weekend a number of musical artists are arriving from overseas.
The renowned Papua New Guinea (PNG) singer Tonton Malele with his crew will arrive in Honiara today.
Lynette Adomea of the Bonfire Festival Committee on Monday said, “Tonton Malele and his crew Jayrex and Nene arrive from Papua New Guinea tomorrow (today).”
Following their arrival today (Tuesday), they will visit the main sponsors of the festival today.
“Due to the short time, prior to the show night on Saturday 12th October they will be visiting the presenting sponsor ‘Our Telekom’, Bronze Sponsor – Visitors Bureau, Venue Sponsor – Heritage Park Hotel and Official Travel Partner – Solomon Airlines,” Ms Adomea said.
They will only be conducting one school visit to White River School and then the remaining time will be dedicated to rehearsals for show night.
Also arriving will be Ni-Vanuatu supporting artist Shazza who will be joining in the visits as well.
Leading up to the show this weekend a press conference will be held at Heritage Park Hotel – GG Restaurant on Wednesday 9th October 2024.
At the conference the organisers will share about the aims and objectives of the Bonfire Festival.
Only that but the organising committee will have an opportunity to thank their sponsors and welcome the visiting artists to the country.
