Trial continues in the Honiara Magistrate Court for the South Guadalcanal Member of Parliament (MP) David Dei Pacha.
The defence bench is taking the charge with its case.
Pacha is standing trial again in the Honiara Magistrate Court for charges of conversion and abuse of office.
This was for allegedly misusing more than $148,000 of public funds meant for micro projects in his constituency in 2006.
Pacha’s case has been remitted to the Honiara Magistrate Court for either a new trial or continuation of trial after the Crown appealed the magistrate’s decision to clear him of the charges.
He was freed from the charges in 2012, following a no case to answer submitted by his lawyer at the close of the Crown’s case.
The hearing after a long break resumes yesterday before Principal Magistrate Jim Seuika and will continue today.
Gabriel Suri of Suri’s Legal Practice is representing the MP while Crown Prosecutor Augustine Aulanga represents the Crown.
