THE Paddock Easter sports knockout tournament has successfully ended on Wednesday.
The tournament was held at Ila village, Fa’arau district in Central kwara’ae, Malaita province.
The Easter tournament was organised in two sport category, junior futsal and open category seven aside knock-out.
More than 15 teams participated at the respective competitive tournaments.
The ongoing sporting activity program in Ila village was part of continues strengthening the aim and objective of an initiative to bring, peace compassion, respect and togetherness among youths in Fa’arau district.
The tournament was described as one of the successful competitions for sports people in Fa’arau district.
Coordinator of the tournament Davidson Dauara said, the tournament brought together youths and sports people in and around Fa’arau district to enjoy the Easter with sports activities.
He added that the tournament was not really for prizes competition but to celebrate the Easter in a special and peaceful way.
“We see such activities as one way to battle and minimize unlawful activities in the communities and families,” he said.
The tournament ended with brief prize presentation to the winning teams from both futsal and seven-side soccer knock out.
Mr Dauara acknowledged all participating teams and supporters for a fantastic behavior demonstrate at the week competition.
